     James Forgie married Agnes Reid, daughter of Alexander Reid and Janet Dick, in September 1841 at New Monkland, West Lothian, Scotland; The banns for the marriage were read the 4th Sabbath in September, at New Monkland.^2,3 James Forgie resided in 1851 at 640 Railroad St., New Monkland Parish, Lanark, Scotland; That part of the parish of N. Monkland bounded on the west partly by the Carlisle Rd., not including houses east side of said road in the Village of Stand. On the north by the Slamannon Rd. by Greengours. On the east by a road leading from the said Greengaurs by Grayrigg Branch of the Monkland and on the south by the said branch of the said Monkland Railways and Dykehedd Road.      James Forgie died on 26 June 1864 at Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, at age 47; Cause of death was the amputation of his leg. Earl Forgie told me he worked at the Smith Coal Works and there was an accident there which lead to his death. He was buried circa 28 June 1864 at Versailles Cemetery, McKeesport, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.⁵

     Agnes Reid was born on 26 October 1822 at Stirling, Scotland.¹ She was the daughter of Alexander Reid and Janet Dick.^2,3

     Agnes Reid married James Forgie, son of Jane/Jean Fotheringham, in September 1841 at New Monkland, West Lothian, Scotland; The banns for the marriage were read the 4th Sabbath in September, at New Monkland.^1,4 Agnes Reid immigrated on 5 October 1852; came to the port of New York with five children: Janet, James, Jane, John, Alexander and William on the ship Affghan.^5,6 She was in the census Agnes told census taker she had had 13 children, of whom 10 were living. in 1900 at Dravosburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.⁷ Agnes Reid died on 4 December 1908 at At home of her daughter, Dravosberg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, at age 86; Death Cert. #28542, File #113455, Reg. #45

     Janet Forgie died died young.¹ She was born on 6 August 1842 at Ballockney, New Monkland, Lanark, Scotland.¹ She was the daughter of James Forgie and Agnes Reid.¹

     

     James Forgie married an unknown person ; Single. He was born on 18 February 1844 at Ballockeny, New Monkland, Lanark, Scotland; On James' birth record, New Monkland, Book 6, the father was listed as living in Ballockney and his occupation was engineman.
Ballockney is a village of the aprish of New Monkland [pop. 559]. This is very close to the border of Stirling.¹ He was the son of James Forgie and Agnes Reid.¹ James Forgie was naturalized on 7 October 1872 at Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania; His sponsor was Peter Perres of Mifflin Twp.² He James sponsored Andrew Futton when he made his Declaration of Intent on 30 Jun 1885. on 31 October 1887 at Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.³

     Alexander Forgie was born on 21 October 1847 at Drums, New Monkland, Lanark, Scotland.¹ He was the son of James Forgie and Agnes Reid.¹ Alexander Forgie appeared on the census of 1880 at Stoneberg, Mifflin, Pennsylvania; Boarder.² He was buried in November 1918 at Richland Cemetery, Dravosburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

     Alexander Forgie died on 15 November 1918 at Dravosburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, USA, at age 71.¹

     Edward Hays Forgie was born in December 1895. He was the son of William Forgie and Magdalena (?).

     Edward Hays Forgie died in 1969; He married Eva Maria [1902-1919] and both are buried in Mt. Vernon Cemetery, ElisabethTwp., Allegheny Co. PA.

     David Shaw Forgie was born on 26 February 1858 at Pennsylvania. He was the son of James Forgie and Agnes Reid.

     David Shaw Forgie married Nannie Bell KIng circa 1873 at Pennsylvania. David Shaw Forgie appeared on the census of 1900 at Elderton City, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania; Day laborer. He Moved to Bakersfield area. Worked for Union Oil Company in the oil field. This is from Mabel Hall. circa 1910.

     David Shaw Forgie died in 1948; He and wife buried in Royal Oak Cemetery. I think this is in CA.

     Earl David Forgie died at CA. He Much of the information on the Forgie family came from this man. He lived in CA at the time. circa 1980.

     Geoge E. Forgie Supposedly George had a twin, named Robert. Perhaps this Twin died and that would account for the Robert b. 1893. in 1886. He was born in September 1886 at Pennsylvania. He was the son of David Shaw Forgie and Nannie Bell KIng.

     

     Mary Forgie married Peter Spittal. Mary Forgie was born on 26 February 1858 at Pennsylvania. She was the daughter of James Forgie and Agnes Reid. Mary Forgie In her mother's obit it is stated that she died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Spittal, of Dravosburg. I can find no James Spittal birth but there is a Peter Spittal listed in the 1900 census for Mifflin Twp. in 1908.

     Mary Forgie died in 1933. She was buried in 1933 at Richland Cemetery, Dravosburg, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.
