Neander A. Gobrecht

     Neander A. Gobrecht This man recorded, in 1909 and published in the PA German Magazine, the tombstone inscriptions of persons born prior to 1800 and past 16 years at death at Arendtsville, Adams Co., PA. This is the only place John Beecher's wife's maiden name is recorded. The stones are no longer available to read but since he was married to the g-granddaughter of John and Elisabeth Beecher, I believe that he knew this from personal knowledge if it was not on the tombstone and he added this to the record. He also said John was a soldier of the revolution and I cannot find a pension record for him. He was born on 17 September 1851 at Arendtsville, Adams County, Pennsylvania; HIstory of John Christopher Gobrecht Family, 1753-1953.

Henrich Wilhelm Kenter was Land Manager at Germany. He Sponsors at his baptism were: Johann Henrich Freund, a conductor in Maspe; Johann Henrich Falckmann, a conductor in Horn; and Hermann Christoph Kleindiek in Bosingfeld. He was an Evangelical Reformed Lutheran. In 1748 he was called a manager in Braunenbruch, near Detmold [possibly a property manager]. During the period of 1749-1760 he was a manager for House Wobel [name of a family residence]; 1761-1775 when he died, he managed part of the forest for the Prince . His will is in the family files in Detmold and was, in 1948, in the hands of Prof. Dr. Upmeyer. He dictated his will 13 Feb. 1775, in Laubach two days before he died, to his brother-in-law, A. Gutheim. He named his cousin, Drewes in Horn, and his brother-in-law, Gutheim in Rhoden, executors of his will. The will dispursed his goods between his children of his second and third marriage and his surviving wife. The children of his first marriage having all preceded him in death. He was born on 1 September 1721 at Bosingfeld, Germany.1 He was the son of Jobst Wilhelm Kenter and Anna Ilsabein Drewes.

Heinrich Leonhard Arcularius was Postmaster. He I think it says he was in charge of the Postoffice in Alverdissen. Also he was appointed Treasurer of Barntrup which is very close to Alverdissen. He was born on 26 March 1769 at Gifhorn, Hannover.1

     Heinrich Leonhard Arcularius married Marianne Wilhelmine Henriette Lender, daughter of Johann Henrich Jonas Lender and Antoinette Lucretie Kenter, on 19 November 1815 at Horn.1

     Heinrich Leonhard Arcularius died on 1 November 1841 at Alverdissen at age 72.1 He was buried on 11 November 1841 at Alverdissen.1
